WE DID IT!!!
In May, 2007, the Lake County 4-H Foundation was established. A generous, anonymous donation of $10,000 got the Foundation off to a running start. Wait, there was one catch! We had to match the $10,000 in order to keep it. What a brilliant donor! Now, we had a fire set to our feet. On April 12, at the 4-H Friends and Alumni Breakfast, Virginia Bartlett pulled the winning door prize ticket and Becky Hudson won her choice of a "HOG" or a "MULE". Becky, a local elementary school teacher said her husband Dave, a local firefighter, definately wanted the Harley. Two days later, he had his wish as the Foundation's treasurer, Alice Ayers, wrote Gator Harley a check for his new ride. After expenses, the Foundation raised over $3,200! Once that was added to the generous donations of Charter Members, we had done it! We matched, and exceeded the original $10,000! Way to go!
